SolarUnion installed our solar panels back in 2019. I'm copying this review from the one I left on Yelp for convenience, but I'm happy to say that two years later we've still experienced no problems. SolarUnion was great to work with! Karissa was fantastic and clearly described the process, benefits, and performance expectations without any hard sell. SolarUnion was comparable in price (a little cheaper) than other quotes we received, but we were really sold on the customer service. The energy consultant they sent out (Mark?) was also friendly and answered all of my questions. Once I approved the drawings, the permit only took a couple weeks and then the entire installation was done in a single day! I couldn't believe how quickly everything was completed. I left for work without solar and came home to ten fully installed panels without ever seeing a worker! We've had the panels for about 9 months and everything is great. We had really big storms shortly after the installation and am happy to report no signs of leaks. I haven't compared the energy generated against SolarUnion's minimum guarantee (something it's competitors wouldn't explicitly state), but I'm generating more than I'm using and am happy with that.

At first I didn't even want solar. Than a coworker of mine got solar and went with SolarUnion. So during the whole process I sat in to here everything that would happen and still could not believe it. So after a year of seeing his bill and mine I knew I needed to chance. at the time we were doing a remodel and talk to Randy and told him that I wanted to make the change but wasn't ready to pull the trigger. Another year went by, the whole time Randy would check in just to see how my wife and kids were doing but never asked if I was ready to make the move and that made me feel awesome not being bugged over and over. "Top notch job."

We chose SolarUnion after getting quotes via EnergySage from 3 installers. SolarUnion wasn't the cheapest, but they had a great warranty and a knowledgeable team. We wanted a ground mounted array, that would require 250ft of trenching in our sloped backyard. The job was supposed to take 3 days, but once they started digging it was clear 3 days wouldn't be enough: the slope was too steep for the trencher to work, and there were too many roots. The crew worked for 5 days with pick and axe, carefully digging the trench to avoid hurting our trees. Top notch job. The rest of the install seemed super easy, but that's because the crew knew what they were doing. We are very happy with our array.

Nearly every company backed off with the complexities of our installation with a flat roof encumbered with multiple exhausts on top of a 3-level townhouse. Not Solar Union that patiently looked at my drawings to make some initial assessments and designs for my review. The final system design optimized solar production while respecting the construction code. They took care of all permits and inspections with the city and PG&E and were amenable to the HOA demands.

SolarUnion is one of the very few companies that will install solar on a foam roof. Their team was incredible in the way they staged the project and worked together with the roofing company. First the roofers ripped off my old composite shingles and repaired the roof. SolarUnion installed brackets that anchor the solar panels on the bare plywood base. The roofers came back to spray foam to seal the brackets and completed the foam roof. Then SolarUnion came back to install the panels on the brackets that were now sealed in with foam. I'm telling you, this company goes the distance. The team at SolarUnion was magnificent in every way. From the first contact with Karissa, the sales rep who explained everything from the get go, to Andreis and his crew who gave 110 percent in getting everything right during the process. All the while, Itzel, the project manager oversaw the permits and checked in to make sure things were going smoothly.

Basically I started my solar inquiry in 2012 and found so much deception and marketing crap with many companies (not all, but many). Being a financial planner and very analytical (I also have a law degree which helps me see through the B.S.) I needed to see the numbers and so I set out to do a detailed comparison of all the options commercially available. I asked all for a 5.06kw system quote to keep things equal…and you really don’t want to lease solar unless you have no equity or ability to pay for or finance an system. After considering most of the major players (see spreadsheet) I was pretty set on going with [other company] when an older gentleman knocked my door and offered a free solar consultation. I accepted as I hadn’t heard of the company SolarUnion, and set a meeting with a sales representative. It was a great experience as I could tell the salesperson knew his stuff and was not pushy or manipulative in any way. Then I saw the numbers! Note that if you buy a bigger system (like a 6‐7kWp) then your savings actually increases. My Lenar house is about 3,000 sq ft and we went with a 6kWp system…so far it’s replacing all our usage (we were shooting for 95% to stay in tier 1 PGE rates). We signed up and SolarUnion was in contact with me through the whole process. They were GREAT to work with and handled the permits and every aspect of installation and interconnection with PGE. I spent a lot of time researching panels and inverters and considered installing myself. Solar Union also offers ongoing maintenance and they installed optimizer so I can see my power generation online each day. They warrantee the system for 25 years. I have been 100% happy with the way it’s worked out…and a few of my friends in Lincoln have also used SolarUnion and have been very happy as well.

During the summer months I use my AC every day. I did plenty of research to see if getting solar would help lower my PG&E bills. I noticed that the larger companies were the most expensive. I was disturbed by the fact that most of them aimed at tier-shaving or partial offset only to remove the most expensive PG&E rates. Then a relative recommended that I contact SolarUnion, a company solely focused on full offset. Dear Mr. Castillo and Mr. Sandoval, This note is just to inform you that the solar production at my residence for year two has exceeded the contracted amount. I am quite pleased, and the system has been performing well. According to the TIGO measurements, in the period 9/1/17 to 8/31/18 my system produced 6820.34 kwH versus the agreed contract amount of 6419 kwH. I hope my system continues to perform as well for the next 23+ years. I have told all my friends and neighbors about the benefits of our solar installation, but so far no one else to my knowledge has yet made the commitment. Perhaps next year.
